20+ YEARS OF COMBINED EXPERIENCE
We're Emily Best (Raleigh) and Jennifer Wilder (Goldsboro), best friends since 2007 and now co-owners of 919 Mahj Club.
Emily is a current middle school art teacher. Jennifer trained physician offices on electronic medical records. Different careers, same instinct: we know how to hold your attention and actually teach you something.
That shows up in how we run our classes: hands-on, not lecture-style; a little funny, because learning should be fun; and built to stick, so you leave knowing how to actually play
We started this club because we wanted to share our love of the game with everyone, and however you show up, that's exactly how you're supposed to show up.

New to mahjong? Start here. A two-hour beginner class covering the tiles, the flow of the game, and your first hand, plus a bonus hour of guided play. Booked as a three-hour session.

A relaxed, three-hour open-play session with an instructor on hand for questions and strategy tips.

None at all. The Foundation is built for complete beginners, we start from the very basics and walk you through your first hand.

No problem, the guided play hour is optional. If you head out after instruction, you'll get $10 off a future Guided Table session.

Yes. Both Emily and Jennifer teach kids as well as adults, so reach out to ask about scheduling a kids' class.

Right now Goldsboro sessions are running regularly at Walnut Creek Country Club. Emily is actively setting up sessions in Raleigh, join our list to be notified when those launch.
